Childcare Summit, Big Day Out, Climate Change and Gaza rally

CHILDCARE SUMMIT

A discussion on the future of childcare in Australia will be taking place at the Sol Green Community Centre in Port Phillip on Wednesday 21 January between 1 and 5 pm. I will be presenting ideas about the role of local government in childcare and possibilities for the future. Senator Sarah Hanson-Young and Colleen Hartland, MLC will be among the speakers.

BIG DAY OUT

The Big Day Out will again be held at the Flemington racecourse on Australia Day (Sat Jan 26) this year. Council is working closely with the organisers to try to minimise the disruption to residents. There is a RESIDENT HOTLINE that residents can call if they have concerns or queries - 9372 5572. This number will be staffed during office hours before the event and from 6am on 26 January.

RESPONDING TO CLIMATE CHANGE IN MOONEE VALLEY

I am keen to hear what residents are doing to reduce their carbon emissions or their ecological footprint. Please email me on roseiser@vic.greens.org.au I will soon be organising a community forum on climate change action so watch out for more details.

PEACE IN GAZA
