Buy some flowers, a new dress, go out for lunch or service your bike.
When the landscaping and added extras are all completed, the area will be an even better place to shop locally. We have wonderful neighbourhood shops in Pin Oak Crescent and Racecourse Rd – please support local enterprise.
To celebrate the completion of these works there will be an open day for shoppers and local residents.There will be free activities and entertainment on the day including:• Balloons for the kids• A roving entertainer• Face painting • Surprise giveaways

I am continuing to work with some other Councillors to prevent more of Debneys Park being lost to road space. Further information about options will be made available to Council within the coming month.
The Community grants process will be open from August 3rd to August 31st.
Community groups large and small are encouraged to apply for grants to assist with projects, admin, partnerships etc.

We are working on further opportunities for community input – planting and working bee days.

Many residents have commented to me on their desire to protect our 'village' shopping strip surrounded by heritage Flemington and Kensington. Come along to the meetings to contribute to the Structure Plan.

Hard copies of the PDP report are available at the Flemington Library (313 Racecourse Rd, Flemington) and at the Planning Counter at Moonee Valley Council’s Civic Centre (9 Kellaway Ave, Moonee Ponds).Council will hold two public information sessions to update the community on the PDP Report and the MGS Architects Report, as well as the next steps in the application process.
Session one: Monday, 20 July12.30pm-1.30pm
Session two: Monday, 20 July7.00pm-8.30pm
Both sessions will be held at the Moonee Valley Civic Centre, 9 Kellaway Ave, Moonee Ponds.
Improvements at Debneys Park
Council with support from the Heart Foundation and with input from a special group of local primary school students and Flemington residents, has developed a draft plan to improve and activate Debneys Park in Flemington.
Overall improvements outlined in the draft plan include:
Introducing new active play spaces for children of all ages while retaining the basketball court
New seating and furniture
Improved pathways for pedestrians and cyclists
Viewing platforms over the creek
Improvements to biodiversity through new plantings including retention of all existing trees
Increased shade and habitat
Improved entry points to the park
Improvements to the community garden including new fencing, entry point and possible market place
The draft Concept Plan is on consultation for two weeks from 8 July to 22 July.
Copies of the draft Concept Plan will be on display in Debneys Park, Council’s Civic Centre, at the Flemington Community Centre, at the Flemington Library and at mvcc.vic.gov.au.
